Tealeaf processes data in realtime and needs to have access to data files and local CTREE database tables exclusively. While fully implemented virus protection can work for sometime, it can also result in corrupt data. This happens when the Tealeaf functionality interferes with anti-virus protection. The addition of threat protection has similar affects and can cause data corruption just like anti-virus can. Consequently, both anti-virus and threat protection should follow the guidelines as follows:
Processing servers
Canister data, Index data and Spooling data folders should be exempt from anti-virus and threat protection. Tealeaf allows flexibility as to the location of this folder. As such, the Canister, Index or Spooling data can be installed on any available drive and any folder on the drive. The detailed data paths are created during the installation of the Canister, Index or Spooling data. Please contact your Tealeaf administrator for the exact path to the Canister data.
Canister archive servers
The requirements should be the same as the processing servers according to directories configured for these servers.
cxVerify archive servers
It is recommended, but not required, for the configuration of the batch extraction process to be exempt from anti-virus and threat protection. This is recommended for the directories where the PDF files are stored.
Microsoft based router servers
MSSQL servers can be configured to have as many as three different directories. One data base storage, one index storage and one Logs storage. This configuration is not required, however, many DBAs and orgs have preferences to directories based on data stored in the directories. It is recommended, but not required for directories where the data type files are stored, to be exempt from anti-virus and threat protection.
Health based router servers
The Spooling data folder should be exempt from anti-virus and threat protection. Tealeaf allows flexibility as to the location of this folder. As such, the Spooling data can be installed on any available drive and folder on the drive. The detailed Spooling data path is created during the installation of the Spooling data. Please contact your Tealeaf administrator for the exact path to the Canister data.
