Advanced filter
An advanced filter lets users create a dashboard filter with fields that are not represented on the dashboard itself. Read more about advanced filters here.
Dashboard
A dashboard is a collection of one or more saved queries, displayed as KPI tiles and report widgets on one page.
Dimension
A dimension is a field representing an attribute, fact, or value, which can be selected from the field picker within an Explore and used to filter a query. Common dimensions include such attributes as dates, names, and IDs, and often correspond to columns in your underlying data table.
Edit mode
A state of the dashboard where users can make changes, such as edit filters, copy or delete report widgets, etc. To go into edit mode, you need to be on a dashboard that you’ve copied and saved into a personal or group folder. The opposite of edit mode is view mode, which allows you to temporarily apply filters.
Explore
An organized set of data dimensions and measures.
Filter
A tool used to extract specific data. Users can narrow down the displayed results according to specific parameters. Filters are gathered at the top of each dashboard in a “filters section”. This section will look different from dashboard to dashboard.
Folder
A place where dashboards and subfolders are stored. Each user has the same four folders accessible through the Folders menu.
-
Favorites - this folder stores dashboards that were added by clicking on a heart icon next to the dashboard name.
-
My Folder - a personal folder, where the user can copy and save existing dashboards, and make edits. The copied dashboard will be visible only to that user.
-
Group folder - where the user can copy, edit, and save existing dashboards to share with others in their organization. Other users can copy, edit, and save dashboards in the Group folder as well to share and edit with others in their organization.
-
Shared - a folder with a default dashboard provided by Insights. This folder will typically consist of two subfolders:
-
Insights, with further subfolders:
Executive Dashboard
Channel Performance (encompassing email, SMS, mobile, and WhatsApp channels) -
Tealeaf (if applicable)
-
KPI tile
A customized “single value” visualization that displays a Key Performance Indicator for the time range selected in the time filter.
Measure
A measure is a field in an Explore that represents measurable information about your data, such as sums, counts, and so forth. A measure can be of aggregate or non-aggregate type.
Report widget
A component of the dashboard that shows summarized and detailed information in a visually structured format. It typically shows data about your campaigns in the form of charts, tables, or graphs, allowing users to quickly interpret and analyze key data.
Elements of a report widget:
Going from left to right:
-
Title of the widget
-
Tooltip - shows a description of the report widget on hover
-
Bell icon - lets users schedule an alert
-
Three dots icon - lets users edit, expand the view, and use the explore option
-
Data - the main part of the widget with values for the specific data segments and a legend
