As a marketer creating useful content items is at the core of your marketing strategy. You are focused on providing relevant content items to your customers to help solve their needs. You want the right content items to reach the right audience. Here is how you can achieve your goal with Content.
Step 1: Upload and store assets
Your asset collection is core to the content items that you want to deliver. It is where you store all your images, videos, and other files that you use in your content item. Building your asset collection is easy in Content. Start by uploading your assets now:
- You can upload assets no matter where you are in the subscription. Open the Person icon from the main navigation to upload assets.
- You can also upload assets from Content > My content or All Content pages.
- Use a command-line interface (CLI).
- Upload an asset to a field on a content form.
Step 2: Manage tags
After you upload an asset, you’ll notice tags automatically assigned to your asset. Our AI capability analyzes compatible file types and automatically generates these tags. Now, here is what you can do with these tags:
- Accept or reject the suggested AI tags.
- Manually add your tags.
- Easily find the assets you need using these tags to build your content items.
Step 3: Create content items
As a marketer, you are always creating new content items to be relevant to the latest information and trends you want to share with your customers. Whether you’re creating new content items or updating existing content items, with Content, you can streamline your writing. Here is how to get started:
- Sart to create content items from anywhere in the subscription by opening the Person icon on the main navigation. You can also create content items from Content > My content or All Content pages.
- Select a content type, provide a name, select a library, and click Create.
- Start working on the content items by completing all the fields in the content form. Add assets from the asset collection, or by entering text, or uploading files from your sources.
- If you subscribed to either the trial or standard editions of Content, create and edit content items using the site manager and content editor for your site pages.
Step 4: Search for content items and assets
You’re always looking for content items that you created or that you want to reuse from another team member or project. Now, with Content, you do not have to hunt through a maze of folders and subfolders on a shared drive to find them. Here is how easy it is to find content items:
- Content scopes the search results to the page from where you search. Use the search bar to find the exact content items. For example, when you type in a search term from My content view, the filter named "Me" is already applied.
- You can also apply filters to the lists of content items or assets displayed in your subscription by clicking the filter icon. You can filter by status, tag, category, keyword, and more depending on your role.
Step 5: Review and approve
Whether you are part of a big team or only a couple of people, you want to make sure everyone is on the same page and is aware of what you send to your customers. Here is how you accomplish that:
- Other users in the Content subscription can add comments to your draft content using the Commenting mode found on the top menu of every content form. Click the Commenting icon to open the Comments tab to add, review, and mark comments as resolved.
- You can set up informal reviews from the content form. Open the overflow menu on the top of the content form and click Submit for review. Provide a name, add reviewers, add an end date for when you want to content reviewed by, and submit for review. Publishing the content item is not dependent on the approval from these informal reviews.
- You can also provide a review link to the content item to anyone who wants to review it. You can copy the review link from the Details tab of the content form.
- If you are working in the standard or trial editions of Content, and if approvals are enabled, you’ll not be able to publish content items until an authorized user approves the content item. The submit for review button is visible on the content form as a part of the content creation process. There is no option for you to publish the content item without approval.
Step 6: Publish
When the draft is ready to go live, you publish it. A published status means that your content item or asset is published and available on the content delivery network.
- At its purest, the process of publishing content, pages, or assets is as simple as clicking Publish and selecting Immediately. If you are making a quick update, this is all you'll need to do when publishing content items and assets.
- Select the scheduled routine or event to publish your content item when your manager or admin has a schedule for publishing routines or one-time events.
- You can publish content items and assets individually or in bulk from the My content, All Content, and from the libraries pages as well.
Step 7: Restore versions
There may be times when you want to go back to the content item you had before. Save snapshots of your content items and assets as you edit them automatically when your admin enables versioning for your subscription. It does not matter if the content item is published or if you are still working on the drafts, you can always go back to your older versions.
- Versions are displayed in the history view at the top navigation of both draft and published content form or assets.
- When you click Restore from one of the listed versions, it creates a new draft item, allowing you to edit and publish that content item or asset version.
