You need to deliver content in the language of your audience across all channels. Content management is more efficient when your CMS supports many languages.
Content makes it very easy to work with and manage content in various languages. As an admin, you can control what language your subscription displays. You can also set what languages must be associated with the content created.
To control the language settings for your subscription, go to the Admin > Settings > Languages page.
Set the default language for display, search, and tagging
The default display language for your Content subscription is your browser's language. You can also set a default language for your Content subscription. When the browser language is not recognized, the subscription's default language is used.
The default language also determines the AI tagging and search indexing language. For example, if the default language is set as French, the AI generates french tags when an image is uploaded.
Select a language from the Default language for search and tagging dropdown options. The supported languages for Content are:
- Chinese
- Chinese traditional
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Spanish
- Swedish and
- English
Note: Changing the default language affects searching in the subscription. So set the default language before you upload assets or create content items.
Manage content language settings
The language associated with a content item serves as meta-data. The meta-data is then used to search and filter content items.
Tip: Developers can use the language meta-data to filter and retrieve content.
You can add languages in the Available content languages field. You can then associate the content you create with these languages. You can add as many languages as you want or remove them.
Note: When you remove all languages, English becomes the default language.
You can pick a language from the list you added to replace English as the default.
Marketers can choose a language from the options you added here. The list of languages is available to them from the Content language dropdown in the details tab. If the marketer does not select a language, the default language you set here is applied.
Note: These settings are used only as search filters. They don't restrict what text you enter in the content fields.
