When you get your subscription to Acoustic Content, you will have your own instance of Acoustic content hub. As an administrator, you have the responsibility to manage the hub and its settings. You can access the Settings tab from the ribbon.
There are several settings that you can manage from here. A few general settings include managing your hub's name, language settings, and versioning controls for your hub.
Change your hub's name
The organization's name is how your content hub is identified across Acoustic content. All users will be able to identify and pick this hub by name from the top navigation. This is especially when your users have access to more than one hub. You can change this name when required from Settings> Administration > Hub view. It's important to choose a friendly and informative name to help your users find a hub from the list of hubs they have access to.
The Content hub ID is used by developers when they reference the hub in websites and applications. It can’t be changed.
Enable versioning
With version control enabled, multiple snapshots of content items and assets will be stored on your hub, allowing users to revert back to previous versions of the draft and published items when necessary. You can enable version control from Settings > Administration > Hub view.
When a content item or asset is updated with version control enabled, the original version is saved, along with associated metadata, such as the tags and image renditions. The saved version of the original files and images is similar to creating a copy of the files. The amount of data storage used for the saved version is the same as it would be for a copy.
Set default display language for browser, search, and tagging
Do you want your Acoustic content hub to display in a language you are familiar with? Your Acoustic content hub by default displays in the language that is set in your browser. When the browser setting for the language isn’t recognized or supported by your hub, it displays in the default hub language that you set for your content hub. You can set this default language from Settings >Administration > Languages view.
In addition to browser display language, the default language determines what language is used for AI tagging and search indexing. Changing the default language affects searching in the hub. It's important to set the default language to your preferred language before you begin developing your content model, uploading assets, or creating content items.
Manage content language settings
When marketers and composers create content they can associate it with the languages that are that you add to the Available content languages field in the Settings> Administration > Languages view.
By default, authors can only associate their content with the English language. You can change this default setting by changing the language option in the Default content language field in the Settings> Administration > Languages view.
These settings are used only as search filters and don't restrict what text can be entered into content fields.
