You can create a flexible report by dragging dimensions and metrics to the table and allow your information to populate.
Note: Flexible reports are currently available only as a limited release feature. As a preview feature, flexible reports contain limited historical data and support only one of your Acoustic™ Digital Analytics client IDs. Contact your customer representative to get early access to provide feedback and help us improve this feature.
Creating a flexible report is simple! Navigate to Reports > Flexible reporting and click Create. Then from the Report elements panel, drag the dimensions and metrics to their designated spots on the table. Each time you add dimensions and metrics, the table will populate with more data. Keep in mind that you can only have one top-level dimension at a time, but as many metrics as you can effectively view in your report. You can also apply segments to limit your report by specific criteria to perform relational analysis, better understand affinities, and better understand visitor personas.
If you want to explore more analytical possibilities, try adding another dimension within your populated data! Just drag the second dimension over a row of your populated data. You can have up to five levels of these nested breakouts with dimensions. Between multiple levels of dimensions and segments, imagine what you could find out!
Don't like the metrics, segments, or dimensions you have selected? No problem. Drag new metrics or dimensions over selected ones to replace the metric or dimension and the report will repopulate. To remove segments, simply press the X on the segment. Or select Clear table to remove everything and start over.
Limitations for adding dimensions and metrics to the report
You are limited by the number of dimensions you can use at a time, and a metric may not be applicable for the report you are building.
- You can only have one top-level dimension at a time. However, you can nest up to five more dimensions within your populated data for further insight.
- Metrics do not have an official limit, but your ability to view your data effectively decreases after about five metrics.
- Some metrics won't populate data with the dimension you chose. Typically, an error message will prompt in this situation.
