Acoustic Exchange adds identity records to the Identity Store either through evaluation of individual event notifications or through a bulk upload of identifiers from an Acoustic Exchange endpoint.
Add identifiers observed during event processing
Acoustic Exchange evaluates the type and values of identifiers in event traffic that passes between publisher and subscriber endpoints. Each event notification contains a single identifier value.
As an event is received, Acoustic Exchange looks up the identifier in the Identity Store. If there is no match, Acoustic Exchange adds the new identifier to the Identity Store. If there is a match, Acoustic Exchange includes the other related identifiers that were discovered by the match as part of the payload of the outgoing event.
Over time, Acoustic Exchange detects new identifiers and adds them to the Identity Store. However, populating the Identity Store by observing event traffic can be a lengthy process, depending on individual behaviors and on the number of events being tracked.
Bulk upload of identifiers through Acoustic Exchange audience sharing
To populate the Identity Store more quickly, Acoustic Exchange supports the bulk upload of identifier data from an Acoustic Exchange endpoint. The bulk identifier upload feature leverages the audience sharing functions in Acoustic Exchange. By populating the Identity Store through a bulk upload, you can accelerate how quickly Acoustic Exchange can match identities to provide a more complete view of the customer.
Each audience record contains one or more identifiers and each audience can contain records for many individuals. Acoustic Exchange evaluates the audience data to find the identifiers and adds them to the Identity Store.
You can perform a bulk upload of identifiers to the Identity Store while you share an audience or you can upload the identifiers as a separate upload action.
