Use the Audiences tab in Acoustic Exchange to share audiences between endpoints and upload identities to the Acoustic Exchange Identity store. Acoustic Exchange provides a wizard that you can use to specify the source endpoint, the source of a bulk identity upload, and the destination endpoint of an audience share.
Register the source and destination endpoints. You can share audiences only between endpoints that are registered with Acoustic Exchange for your Acoustic Exchange user account. However, you can also upload segmented identity data from your endpoint's data mart to the Acoustic Exchange Identity store by using the Audience tab.
Audience sharing is a batch process. You specify the audience data to share, when or how often to share, and how much data to share. The same is true when you upload identity data to the Acoustic Exchange Identity store.
Depending on the information that the endpoint provider supplies during endpoint registration, Acoustic Exchange can display a description of the audience and the types of audience data that is available. If available, Acoustic Exchange displays the descriptions so that you can choose which target audience to share.
When you upload segmented identity data to the Acoustic Exchange Identity store, you are in a sense, "sharing" that data to Acoustic Exchange from the source endpoint's database. When you process an upload and a share simultaneously, the data that is uploaded is also shared with the destination endpoint.
When you search for a target audience or destination endpoint, you can search for an audience that provides identifiers and attributes that are best suited to achieving your business objective. Click in the UI to see details about the audience. If more than 50 audiences appear in the list, Acoustic Exchange prompts you to display a more specific list by entering a search term in the filter field at the top of the target audience list.
- On the Audiences tab, click Share audiences and identifiers. The Share audiences and identifiers page displays as the first page of a wizard that guides you through the audience sharing process. The Summary section displays the result of your selections as you proceed through the wizard.
- Select both Share an audience and Upload identities to the Identity store.
- Select a target audience.
- Search for and select an audience provider. If you are uploading data, the audience provider should be your endpoint.
- Expand the provider listing and select an endpoint that is an audience source.
- Select an audience from the list of audiences that are available from the endpoint.
- Select a destination for the audience. Acoustic Exchange lists providers and endpoints that are registered as potential audience destinations for your Acoustic Exchange account. To refine the list, you can enter a search term in the filter field at the top of the list of destinations. Click Next to proceed.
- Map databases, identities, and attributes (if available) on the Source to destination mapping page.
- Select a marketing database. Click in the Source database field to specify the source of the audience data. Click in the Destination database field to specify where to send the audience data.
- Map audience identifiers. Click in the source Source identifier field to select an identifier that is available in the target audience. Select a corresponding identifier in the Destination identifier field. You can map multiple source identifiers to a single destination identifier.
- Map one or more audience attributes. You can map audience attributes only if attributes are present in the audience source and audience destination. If available, select attributes in the target audience and corresponding attributes in the destination endpoint. You can map a single source attribute to multiple destination attributes. Click in the Source attributes field to select a source attribute. Select a corresponding attribute in the destination. You can click in the Destination attributes field to change the mapping, if necessary. Repeat until you map all of the attributes that you need. Acoustic Exchange displays a list of attributes to map only if the source and destination databases each contain at least one audience attribute. Click Next to proceed.
- Schedule when to share the audience. Choose any of the following methods.
- Share now.
- In the Share audiences and identifiers field, select Immediately. The source endpoint begins the identity upload and audience share process when you click Share. This option is the default selection.
- Upload and share the audience one time only, or at a specific time.
In the Share audiences and identifiers field, select At specific time. Specify a start date and time.Note: When you specify Time, GMT is used.
- Upload and share the audience repeatedly. Specify how often to repeat the upload audience sharing. For each method, you must select a date and time of day to share.
- Intra-dayAcoustic Campaign audience sharing offers an intra-day option. With the intra-day option, you can use the same scheduling features that are used with the daily option.
- Daily
- Weekly
- Custom Select one or more days of the week.
- Specify how much data to share. When you are uploading and sharing data from your endpoint's database, you can indicate how much data to share. You can share all available data or data that was collected during a range of dates that you specify. If you configure repeated upload and audience sharing, Acoustic Exchange does not give you the option to specify a date range.
- If you see the Include all data option, select Yes to share all available data. Select No to enable the Date range field so that you can specify a date range.
- In the Date range field, specify a range of dates that provide the identity data that you want to upload and share. You must specify a start date and an end date.
- Specify how to modify the destination database.
- If you are sharing audience data with an existing database, indicate how to use the shared records
- Add new records Add the shared records to the existing segment and uploads the identity data.
- Replace existing records If the endpoint supports replacing records in the destination database, Acoustic Exchange removes all records in the destination audience and replaces them with the audience that you are sharing. If the endpoint does not support replacing existing audience records, Acoustic Exchange adds the uploaded data and shared audience to the existing audience.
- Remove specified records Remove records that match the records that you are uploading and sharing. Acoustic Exchange matches records based on the value of the identifier that you specify. Some endpoints require an exact match to the entire audience record for an individual.
- Specify the minimum number of records that the target audience must contain.
- Optionally, add a note that provides additional information for use by the destination endpoint. The destination endpoint is responsible for processing the information that you provide.
- If you are creating a new audience, Add new records is the only available option and is selected by default.
- Acoustic Exchange cancels the audience sharing if the selected audience does not contain the required minimum number of records.
- If you are sharing audience data with an existing database, indicate how to use the shared records
- Click Share.
Depending on when you scheduled the audience sharing, the audience data in the audience source endpoint becomes available for use in the audience destination endpoint. The amount of time that is required to complete the process depends on the amount of audience data that is shared.
