Data segmentation products that have integrated as an Acoustic Exchange Partner can make audience data available through Acoustic Exchange as a source audience. The exact methods for defining the source audience depend on the segmentation product.
The source product makes source audiences available to Acoustic Exchange through a series of API (application programming interface) calls. The connection between the source product and Acoustic Exchange is implemented in advance during the integration with Acoustic Exchange.
The source audience contains records that describe the selected members of the audience. The source audience provides the following types of data.
- Audience name
- Source endpoint and endpoint provider
- Audience type
- Audience ID
- Audience identifiers
- Audience attributes
- Records for each member of the audience
Each audience also contains data that describes the source audience as a whole, including the identifiers and audience attributes it supports. This data is referred to as metadata. Acoustic Exchange uses metadata provided in the source audience to describe the audience and the source of the audience in the Acoustic Exchange interface.
