Update the meta tag in your HTML to update web tracking settings
When adding a new qualified domain through the Settings > Organization Settings > Web Tracking settings, the new domain is then automatically added to the web tracking code. This does not necessarily mean that the web tracking code in your HTML is updated. The meta tag in your HTML needs to be manually updated so the changes take effect.
Consider the following example, if the new qualified domain is set to
bbc.co.uk
then the meta tag update would be updated to
<meta name='com.goacoustic.brandeddomains'
content=www.pages04.net,bbc.co.uk />
Update web tracking settings to implement conversion events
Yes, you need to web tracking settings to implement conversion events. You will need to uncomment and add the conversion tracking (COT) meta tag to your tracked pages and configure a conversion event. The COT meta tag is located in Settings > Organization Settings > Web Tracking Code.
This meta tag will add conversion data to the tracking cookie and report it back to Campaign.
Like in web tracking, conversion tracking needs to be triggered from an email using the clickstream type link. Once our server recognizes the clickstream link type, it will add four email specific browser cookies to log the conversion. Conversions from anonymous users are not logged.
To track a conversion event, you'll need configure the conversion tracking (COT) code on the confirmation page of your shopping cart, sign-up form, or any kind of 'Success' page.
The conversion tracking (COT) code enables the pass-through of parameters from the landing page to the conversion page, allowing you to get metrics for page opens or link clicks, so you can create conversion reports for your web site.
