You can use a query of your database as the contact source for your program to target relevant contacts.
Similar to building a program with a database, with Acoustic Campaign you can use a query as your contact source to target your program audience. With this option and the ability to calculate a query before you start a program, you have more flexibility and confidence in what contacts qualify and enter your program. By targeting contacts that are more likely to respond and reach the program goals, your opens and clicks improve as well.
Note: Use of queries that contain child relational table (CRT), universal behaviors, aggregate relational tables, or in query criteria as the contact source are not supported.
Sample use case
You want to use a query to target customers or contacts within a certain region and/or who are interacting with your brand in the last 3 months.
- Use a query along with an entrance trigger behavior, such as having profile and website behavior in the query criteria, and use of a behavior, like 'downloads a file' to enter contacts into your program.
- Change a query to another query that is associated to the same parent database. Then, you are allowed to re-use previously built programs.
- Change from a query that contains test contacts to your targeted contacts query when you are ready to start. Both must be associated to the same parent database.
Using a targeted query gives you better delivery metrics because contacts that are targeted are better suited for the program goal. Your entire database contains contacts at various levels of engagement and with different needs. Targeting contacts for a particular program rather than evaluating your whole database can be more efficient.
The United States (US) has a law that explicitly states US government employee data cannot be viewed by company employees that do not live in the United States. Some databases might contain contacts from all around the world, which can include US government employees. US law requires that non US employees are restricted from accessing US government employee data. As a result, a user can be restricted to see only programs that are tied to the data source that they have access to. When you use a query as a programs contact source, you can target contacts that qualify for your program.
Users can segment their database and add specific contact to specific programs. Or, particular users can be restricted to a defined list of contacts.
