Why Performance Insights?
As a marketer, you spend countless hours creating, revising, and producing the perfect marketing campaign. Of course, you want to engage your customers, and you want to know that your work resulted in success. But how can you gather all the information from those campaigns, understand it, and take action? That's where Performance Insights comes in. Performance Insights collects data from Campaign for email, mobile app messaging, and SMS messages and shows it to you in easy-to-understand, customizable reports.
Our solutions
Performance Insights is the one-stop tool for understanding all data in the Acoustic Campaign.
Performance Insights gathers data from your emails, SMS messages, and mobile app messages, bringing them all into one place for clear, easy-to-understand, and customizable reports. Each report type gives you the exact data that you want to see.
All our products are here to help you be the best marketer you can be. Performance Insights enables you to course-correct when you find something wrong. The reports are updated with the newest data from each campaign. This way, you're always up-to-date and ready to share your reports or make changes if the results are different from what you expected. You always know you have accurate, usable, and relevant data because Performance Insights removes any information from test lists, seed lists, and non-production lists.
Become productive fast
Wondering what to do first? Here's how to become productive with Performance Insights.
- Add your audiences.
- Choose a report.
The template library includes predefined reports that you can add. You must add a report to track your emails' marketing performance under My reports. The default filter sets associated with each report are automatically added after you add a report from the template library. - Customize your filter sets.
After adding a report, you can change the filters applied to each filter set to see the exact data and information you need. Modify the widgets to include different metrics and data to give you meaningful information about your marketing performance.
Performance Insights in action
You want to use the Click-to-open rate widget to understand the effectiveness of marketing campaigns per audience.
Part 1: Add audiences
You're the channel owner at your store. You need to understand how effective targeted advertising is. So, you create audiences in Acoustic Campaign to ensure that your campaigns are targeting the correct people with the right content. You then open Performance Insights and add your audiences in the Audience Management settings. If you don't add your audiences, the data for those audiences can't be tracked so you choose to add audiences first because data cannot be tracked for any emails sent before adding those audiences in Performance Insights.
Part 2: Send an email
Your store recently rolled out a new fitness watch, the SleekFit 2.0. You decide that email marketing will be the most effective way to advertise the new watch. You want to send an email to understand who responds best to the email. You use Acoustic email to send an email titled "SleekFit 2.0 Now Available!". This email is the first targeted advertisement that you send for the SleekFit 2.0 watch. You send the email to audiences that were predefined in Acoustic Campaign and have shown interest in fitness devices, fitness attire, and fitness equipment. This email introduces the newest version of the SleekFit watch and aims to get customers excited about the new features and includes a Buy Now! link.
Part 3: View the data
While you typically use email opens and click rates to understand how emails are performing, you know that if you can see which audiences respond the most effectively, you can adjust your marketing plans accordingly to get a better response rate from the advertising. Over the next week, you go into Performance Insights and look at the Email comparison report. You select the "SleekFit 2.0 Now Available!" email filter and use the audience filter to see only the metrics for the specific audiences you sent the email to. You're most interested in the Click-to-open rate widget. Throughout the week, you notice that two of your predefined audiences have a high click rate on the call-to-action link in the email, but that one audience has a lower click rate. You want to increase the engagement of that audience for the SleekFit 2.0 watch.
Part 4: Follow up
You choose to send another targeted email about the SleekFit 2.0 watch with a 10% discount to the audience that did not have a high click-to-open rate by the audience. You again review the Email comparison report and view the Click-to-open rate widget for the new email you sent. You find in the Click-to-open rate widget that the audience you re-targeted has better click-to-open rates over the next several days.
By analyzing each audience individually and making marketing decisions customized for specific audiences, you targeted specific audiences and then re-targeted underperforming audiences to create an effective advertising campaign for the SleekFit 2.0 watch.
Provisioning
Performance Insights is provisioned for your organization by Acoustic. Acoustic Exchange helps Acoustic Campaign share data across the platform. To share that data, APIs automate the provisioning process by creating an Acoustic Exchange account for you and adding both the Acoustic Campaign and Performance Insights endpoints. Performance Insights tags each metric and action the recipient takes with an Exchange event.
If you ever log in to Acoustic Exchange, you will see both endpoints displayed as active in your account while your Performance Insights account is active. You can't change or delete the Performance Insights endpoint.
