If you’re looking to upgrade CRM and Scribe, please review the following section and use a checklist document to track the upgrade progress.
Upgrade the Acoustic Campaign CRM solution within Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Use the steps in the section to import the solution to Microsoft Dynamics CRM where one of the Acoustic Campaign - MS CRM Integration solutions is already installed and has an earlier version.
- Review the Acoustic Campaign integration solution in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- To access the Settings area in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you have to be assigned a System Administrator security role.
- For CRM OnPremise deployments of Microsoft CRM, you must also be the Deployment Manager.
- Go to Settings > Solutions in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Click Import. Select the solution file and click Next.
- After the solution is uploaded to the server, CRM defines the current version that is installed and the version you are trying to upgrade.
- Choose the Overwrite customization option and select Activate any processes and enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution check box. Click Next.
- After the import starts and finishes with warnings, click Close.
Note: To access the Settings area in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you have to be assigned the System Administrator security role.
Upgrade Acoustic Campaign MS CRM Solution from version 0.9.9.8 to the latest version
When installing version 1.0.1.2 or greater over a previous version, we recommend choosing the following Import Options presented.
For the latest CRM version (v.9.1)
- Solution Action - Upgrade (recommended).
- Previous customizations on components included in this solution - Overwrite Customizations.
-
Post - Import Actions - Select the Enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution check box.
Note: Even though the Overwrite Customizations option says (not recommended) in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM if our previous solution’s old customizations are maintained, the updated features of the new version will not work as expected. To fix any issues related to choosing the Maintain customizations option, a re-import is required.
For CRM 2016 (v.8)
- Upgrade Solution Action - Stage for Upgrade.
- Previous customizations on components included in this solution - Overwrite Customizations.
- Post - Import Actions - Select the Enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution check box.
At the end of the installation, click Apply Solution Upgrade.
To determine your version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, open the Settings menu, the gear icon at the top right corner of the CRM application, and click About.
