Complete the following steps to install cxReveal.
1. Verify Requirements
Before you install Acoustic™ Tealeaf cxImpact cxReveal, you must verify that all machines, including the cxReveal machine, meet the minimum system requirements.
The cxReveal installer assumes that it is installing onto a dedicated machine.
If you are installing the Search database and cxReveal pipeline onto a machine that already hosts a Tealeaf pipeline, the cxReveal installer overwrites the existing default pipeline. Therefore, before you begin to install cxReveal, you must copy the current default pipeline on the hosting machine.
2. Install CX
Before you can install any cxReveal components, you must install Tealeaf CX.
As part of your Tealeaf CX installation, you must install the system database. This database contains information that is required when you install cxReveal.
Retain the hostname of the server that hosts the system database for use during the installation of the search database.
3. Enabling the Canister event bus
After Acoustic Tealeaf CX is installed and before you install cxReveal, enable the event bus for the Tealeaf Canister.
- In the Portal, select Tealeaf > TMS.
- Select the Servers view from the pull-down list.
- Expand the canister component that you want to edit.
- Click Canister configuration to display the configuration information for the canister.
- LocateConfig Actions and click View/Edit.
- On the Tealeaf Canister Config screen, click the Services Perform tab.
- Select Enable Event Bus and click Save to enable the event bus and save the configuration to the canister.
After the event bus for the Canister event bus is enabled, you can continue installing cxReveal.
4. Run the cxReveal installer on the Portal
To installAcoustic Tealeaf cxReveal search features on a dedicated server other than the Portal, you must enable cxReveal within the Portal, which requires that you run the cxReveal installer on the Portal.
Before you run the cxReveal installer, enable the event bus for the Tealeaf canister.
When you run the cxReveal installer on the Portal, in an environment with a dedicated cxReveal server, you must enable cxReveal only. Do not install the cxReveal software on the Portal server if cxReveal also resides on a different server.
Except in very low volume sites, installation of the cxReveal pipeline and database on the Portal Server, which is typically the same machine as the Report Server, is not supported.
When installing the cxReveal database on a SQL Server instance by itself, All Databases mode is not available in the Tealeaf Database Manager.
5. Install cxReveal on the cxReveal server
After you install Acoustic Tealeaf cxReveal on the Portal, you can install it on the cxReveal server.
Installing cxReveal on the cxReveal server installs the dedicated pipeline and session agent required to capture session attribute information and to insert it into the cxReveal database, which is installed later.
When installing the cxReveal database on a SQL Server instance by itself, All Databases mode is not available in the Tealeaf Database Manager.
6. Install Search Database
This step is necessary only if you are installing the Search database. You can skip this procedure if you are not installing the Search database.
If you have not done so already, install the Acoustic Tealeaf cxReveal database through the Tealeaf Database Manager.
- Go to the following directory on the cxReveal Server:
<install_directory>\Reporting
- Double click
TealeafDatabaseManager.exe

- From the menu, select Mode > Database Setup > Single Database Mode.
The Tealeaf Database Manager is now configured to install individual databases. Before you continue, you should verify that Tealeaf Database Manager is aware of the
System
database. - From the Database drop-down, select
System
if it is not already selected. If the database is already installed, then theUpgrade
option for the Action on theSystem
database should be available. - If the

- If cxReveal is installed on a dedicated machine that is separate from the Portal Server, complete the following steps:
- Click Manage Servers.
- Verify that there is an entry for the cxReveal server. If not, create an entry for the cxReveal server onto which you installed the software.
- Verification of the database installation and access to the database are part of the configuration steps.
8. Running the cxReveal installer
Complete the following steps to install Acoustic Tealeaf cxReveal components on a machine.
Before you run the cxReveal installer, enable the event bus for the Canister.

- On the Install screen, click Install to start the installation process.
- When the Installation Complete screen appears, click Finish.
If you are installing the cxReveal database, you must install it separately after you have installed the software.
9. Configuring cxReveal
After you install the search database and the cxReveal pipeline, you must perform additional configuration within the Portal.
- Configure the pipeline.
As part of the installation of cxReveal, a default pipeline is created to capture session attribute information and insert it into the Search database. You might need to modify this pipeline for your Tealeaf solution.
- Configure cxReveal in the Portal.
cxReveal enables dedicated user and group accounts in the Portal so you can manage your cxReveal users independently.
Additionally, a separate set of configuration settings applies specifically to cxReveal, its users, and the Search database.
