Your upgrade planning must consider how to satisfy the upgrade hardware and software requirements, perform the required upgrade changes, and return the system to full operation with the upgrades in place.
Determine whether your plans to upgrade to Acoustic™ Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) v10.0 require installing components on different or new servers or if you will need to reconfigure some of your existing servers. How, or if, you plan to change how you deploy Experience Analytics as part of the upgrade will determine the tool that you must use to perform the upgrade.
You must understand and follow the required upgrade sequence. Upgrading Experience Analytics requires that the new software and features are changed in a specific order. Upgrading individual software components on each server in your environment typically requires running the upgrader to modify Experience Analytics components currently installed on the server.
Consult with your Acoustic representative to evaluate your business needs, review hardware sizing, or to answer upgrade questions that are specific to your environment.
Upgrade path to version 10.0
You can directly upgrade to Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) version 10.0 only if you installed or upgraded to Experience Analytics Version 9.0.2 or 9.0.2A.
If your current Experience Analytics version level is earlier than Version 9.0.2, you must upgrade your current environment to Version 9.0.2 or 9.0.2A and then upgrade to Version 10.0. Before you begin, verify that your system is properly sized for the new version, as the system requirements can change.
If you plan to add or remove Experience Analytics applications or components products in your environment as part of this upgrade process, you must make these changes in your current environment before you upgrade.
Upgrade the Passive Capture Application (PCA)
You can operate Experience Analytics Version 10.0 with either Passive Capture Application (PCA) Version 9.0.2 or Version 9.0.2A.
Before you upgrade your environment to Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) Version 10.0, you must update your network environment to provide the operating systems, databases, hardware, and software that it requires.
The hardware, software, and database requirements to upgrade to Experience Analytics Version 10.0 are identical to the requirements for a new Experience Analytics installation.

.NET framework requirement
Acoustic Experience Analytics (Tealeaf) Version 10.0 requires .NET Framework version 4.5.1.
You must upgrade all Windows-based servers that host Experience Analytics software to .NET 4.5.1 before you upgrade to Experience Analytics Version 10.0.
Failure to perform the .NET framework update prevents the Data Collector from starting after the upgrade is complete. You might see the following error in the Event Viewer:
An unhandled exception ('System.MissingMethodException') occurred in TeaLeafDataCollector.exe . Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: Debugger could not be started because no user is logged on.
