Endpoint providers require information from you to complete the registration process. The endpoint provider preparation and access requirements determine the type of information that is required and how you submit it.
Direct entry
Some endpoint providers collaborate with Acoustic Exchange to allow you to submit user access information through the Acoustic Exchange user interface. When you register an endpoint that has completed this level of advanced preparation, the endpoint registration wizard displays data entry fields that prompt for and accept the user access information that the endpoint provider requires.
Provider instructions
Some endpoint providers require that you contact them to provide the user access that they require. To support this type of endpoint, the Acoustic Exchange endpoint registration wizard provides instructions for how to contact the provider to submit the user access information that the endpoint requires.
In some cases, the instructions require completing an online form. In others, you might be directed to a customer service or support representative. The endpoint provider is responsible for establishing and maintaining the services or interfaces that you need to submit your user access credentials
Custom endpoints
Endpoint providers that have not worked in advance with Acoustic Exchange to complete preliminary endpoint provisioning do not appear as specific options in the Acoustic Exchange endpoint registration wizard. However, if the endpoint does not appear in the wizard, you can register it as a custom endpoint.
When you register a business solution or application as a custom endpoint, you manually generate the authentication key that Acoustic Exchange requires for authenticated communication with the endpoint. You must submit the key to the endpoint provider separately. The endpoint provider is responsible for establishing and maintaining the services or interfaces that you need to submit the authentication key.
