Use location universal behavior (UB) events as part of rules for decisions within the program. With operators such as Today, or within a certain time frame on location events like Exited a geofence, you can send a thank you message for visiting, or an offer to encourage another visit soon. Actions within the program are not immediately triggered like entrance event, but sends at the next program execution cycle.
Location-based universal behaviors rely on geofences and beacon areas. The actions for each include: entered, exited, and dwelled in.
Example
Your goal is to increase sales in the state of Georgia. You want to get started in Atlanta as the largest possible market for your products. Black Friday is approaching, so you create a program focused on physical stores in Atlanta only running for two weeks prior to Black Friday.
To fulfil the criteria of such a program, you will need an event-triggered entrance setting using a location-based universal behavior.
- Add all contacts that dwell inside a geofence in Atlanta to the program to receive Black Friday promotional marketing.
- In programs, you can set step-level frequency controls to ensure that contacts do not receive too many messages if they have multiple visits within a specific time frame.
