Campaign emails are built in either the content builder or in the composer for email.

Composer for email

The composer for email provides most of the same features as the content builder in a robust, drag-and-drop environment that simplifies and streamlines email creation. Ready-to-go templates provide style and structure, or you can start from scratch by using content blocks. Regardless of the path you choose, you'll discover a sophisticated suite of authoring tools that streamline the email creation process.

The composer also comes with a cloud-based content library. Every image you upload into an email is stored as an asset in your content library, and it's automatically tagged. Our built-in image editor allows you to enhance any image you've uploaded into your content library. You can add text, change alignment, apply filters and more.

Preview your email from the perspective of a mobile device, an inbox, or a desktop. Then, click Quick test to send your email to a small group of selected contacts. When you are finished creating your email, you can save it as a template for easy reuse in future campaigns.

Content builder (classic email)

When you use the content builder to create an email, you can start with a pre-defined or blank layout. The content builder is useful for those who are already comfortable working directly with HTML and need to use some of the more advanced email campaign features such as dynamic content and locked emails. Emails created in the content builder can contain:

• Plain text and HTML
• Personalization
• Hosted content
• Dynamic content
• Links
• Attachments
• Rulesets

The content builder provides options for three types of emails:

• Regular - These emails allow all areas of the heading and body to be edited by anyone in the organization with rights to create or edit emails.
• Locked - These are master email layouts that include content areas that cannot be edited.
• Quick compose - A quick compose email is created from an existing published locked emails. Users create editable emails from the locked email, and only the designated areas allow editing.
