This section provides information about user administration for Tealeaf CX.
To access Tealeaf CX user administration:
- Log in to the Portal as an administrator.
- From the Portal menu, navigate to Portal Management.
- In the left panel, select CX User Administration.
- Select the category that applies.
- Manage user passwords.
- To force a user to change their password, select a user and click Modify or Reset password. When they next log in, they are required to change their password before using the Portal.
- You can reset a user's password history to allow them to re-use passwords that might have conflicted with the Portal password usage policy.
- Assign groups.
- To switch a user's role, remove the user from all groups, and then add a group for the user's new role.
- To re-assign a user to a new group, remove all group assignments from the user and then assign the user to the new group to match the user's new role.
- Manage NT users.
- When NT authentication is enabled in the Portal, you can use this feature to create and disable Portal accounts based on Windows™ domain logins that are detected by the Portal.
- NT authentication is enabled through Search Server configuration.
- If desired, you can configure the Portal to automatically login and create accounts for any NT user who visits the Portal.
Note: Changes to settings saved in the Portal Management page are not applied to the Portal application until you refresh the page.
Controlling the auto-generation of session segments for all users at your site
You can enable or disable the ability to auto-generate session segments for all users at your site.
To enable or disable auto-session segment creation for all users:
- From the Portal menu, navigate to Portal Management.
- Click CX Settings in the panel on the left hand side of the Portal.
- Click Search.
- Select Create Session Segment for Completed Searches.
- From the drop-down, select
Disable
to disable auto-session segment creation or clickEnable
to enable auto-session segment creation . - Click Save.
Controlling the auto-generation of session segments at the user level
You can enable or disable the ability to auto-generate session segments for individual users.
To enable or disable automatic session segment creation:
- From the Portal menu, navigate to Portal Management.
- Click CX User Administration in the left panel to expand the CX User Administration options .
- Click the option for Users .
- Select the user whose permissions you want to edit.
- For
Create Session Segment for Completed Session Search
, selectDisable
to disable auto-generation or selectEnable
to enable auto-generation. - Click Save.
Deleting CX user accounts
You can use the Delete function in Portal Management to permanently delete a selected user's profile from the system.
When you delete a user account, Tealeaf provides the option to either permanently delete any dashboards and reports that are owned by the user account, or assign any dashboards and reports to another user.
Note: If you do not assign the dashboards and reports to another user, they are removed from the system permanently when you delete the user's profile.
If you use NT Authentication and you need to delete a user, delete them from Tealeaf first and then from the Windows Active Directory. Otherwise, you'll see an error.
Note: The Admin user cannot be deleted.
Use the steps that follow to delete a user's profile from the system.
- From the Portal menu, navigate to Portal Management.
- Select CX User Administration > Users from the navigation pane on the left.
- Select the user name that you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- To save the reports or dashboards that are currently assigned to the user you are deleting, select the Assign objects to user check box and pick the user to whom you want to assign the dashboards and reports.
Note: If you want to permanently delete the reports and dashboards that are assigned to the user's profile you are deleting, clear the Assign objects to user check box.
- Click Delete.
- If you use NT Authentication (Active Directory), then you must also delete the user from the Windows Active Directory.
The user's profile is deleted from the system.
If you checked the Assign objects to user check box and picked a user, the dashboards and reports are assigned to the user you picked.
If you cleared the Assign objects to user check box, the dashboards and reports are deleted from the system permanently.
