cxConnect is a module that you can add to Tealeaf to enable cxConnect for Data Analysis. The Tealeaf installer enables the product and installs the software.
Depending on how you deploy Tealeaf, you must run the Tealeaf installer with one of the following options:
- All-in-One: If your Tealeaf solution is an All-in-One server, run the installer once on the server.
- Multi-Server, installing on the Portal Server: If you are installing cxConnect for Data Analysis on the Portal Server, run the installer once on the Portal Server.
Avoid installing cxConnect for Data Analysis on a server with other Tealeaf components. However, cxConnect for Data Analysis can be installed on a server that already contains cxVerify.
If possible, install cxConnect for Data Analysis on a dedicated server.
- Multi-Server, installing on a dedicated server: Run the Installer once on the Portal server. Then, run the Installer once on the dedicated Tealeaf cxConnect for Data Analysis server.
Depending on the destination database location and type, more configuration might be required.
- Install cxConnect on the Portal server and on any server where Tealeaf cxConnect for Data Analysis software must be installed..
- In the software distribution, go to the folder
Enablers\cxConnectDA
and runTLsetup.exe
to start the installation. - Select the language that you want to use for the installation screens and click OK.
- From the Welcome screen, click Next to continue.
- From the License screen, review the license terms and click I accept the terms; then, click Next to continue.
- From the Install Location screen, accept the default settings and click Next.
- When you are ready to install, click Install to start the installation process.
- When the Installation Complete screen appears, click Finish.
- In the software distribution, go to the folder
- Restart the Tealeaf Management Server (TMS).
If cxConnect for Data Analysis was installed on a pre-existing server, such as the Portal Server, then the TMS must be restarted from within TMS to complete the cxConnect for Data Analysis installation.
- Create a cxConnect server.
To enable communications between the Portal and cxConnect for Data Analysis, you must create an instance of the cxConnect for Data Analysis server in the portal management page.
- Configure data files
For the data files option, configure the two SQL scripts in
<Tealeaf_install_directory>\dataextractor\scripts
to define the database and tables. - Run test extract.
Before you begin configuring large extract jobs that involve a high number of sessions, configure a test extract of no more than three sessions.
- Configure permissions
If you modified the
ADMIN
group and are deploying this product to an existing Tealeaf solution, you must update menu permissions manually for that group. For all other users and groups, you must configure the appropriate permissions.
Tealeaf cxConnect for Data Analysis allows you to select a destination directory for extracted log files or data files. If you want to segment a specific area of the local machine or a remote connected machine, you can create these directories for later use.
