Zebra MPact can be integrated with device location awareness (DLA). The integration enables marketers to define and send mobile app messages based on events that are generated by the Zebra MPact SDK when the SDK detects a Zebra beacon. Sites, beacons, and categories are defined in the Zebra MPact Console and then imported into DLA.
Before you can get started with Zebra MPact beacons in Acoustic Campaign, the provisioning team must set up a Zebra server for communications with Campaign. To initiate the integration process, you provide the provisioning team with the server's address and a login account on the server. After provisioning is complete, your Zebra MPact sites, floors, beacons, and categories are automatically imported into DLA and mapped to DLA entities. Table 1 describes how Zebra entities are mapped to DLA entities.
Zebra MPact entity maps to... | DLA entity |
---|---|
Site | Site |
Floor | Zone (with same name as the Zebra floor) |
Beacon | Beacon zone with beacon |
Category | Location attribute |
Zebra beacon events are converted into Campaign location universal behaviors that marketers can add to Campaign queries and programs.
For example, to set up a program that is triggered when a mobile user interacts with a Zebra beacon in the menswear department, a marketer might specify the Menswear attribute as criteria for the "Location - entered a beacon" universal behavior that is added to a Campaign program. In this example, the Menswear department category in Zebra is mapped to the Menswear attribute in DLA.
