Suppose you select just the event count. In this case, you cannot select it to record a specific hit attribute or value other than recording that the event did fire.

Note: When the value type is set to event count, selecting a value is not permitted.
If you choose to record a value that is text or numeric, you can record a hit attribute value, session or hit attribute, or even the value of another event.
The recorded value depends on the combination of the following elements:
- The instance of the Value on a page
- The occurrence of the event in a session
- The other properties of that event
For example, suppose you are looking for a value in a hit attribute that can be on a single page multiple times. You can specify whether you want to record the first match, last match, the number of matches, or if there was a match at all.
Dimensions that are populated by events that record the Count Only of the event record the current count of the event in the session at the time of recording.
Event occurrence in session
If an event can fire multiple times in a single session, you can choose the occurrence of the event in the session to record.

If you want to record the value of another event as the value of this event, the combinations of Value Type, Basis Type, Value of Basis Type, and other options are outlined in the table below.
N/Ameans that the option is not available for that set of conditions. For example, if you select value type ofcount, no other options are available.- If the basis type is another event, there are more options depending on what value type of the basis event.
