For Real-time and Enterprise dashboards, you can use the icons and menus on the Actions toolbar to perform dashboard actions.

Customize a dashboard widget
- In the Dashboard view, find the widget, click the widget's three-dot menu, and then click Customize.
- Review the widget's configuration, change as appropriate, and then click Apply. Configuration options are based on the type of widget that you're editing. For details about the different types of widgets, read more about Real-time and Enterprise dashboard widgets.
Note: To customize the Report widget, simply click Customize on the widget. In this case, you do not use the three-dot menu to customize the widget.
Customize an Enterprise dashboard
To edit an Enterprise dashboard:
- In the Dashboards panel, find the dashboard, click on it, and then click Edit.
- Review the following dashboard options and change as appropriate: Dashboard name, Sites, Date range, Add, edit, or remove the following Enterprise dashboard widgets.
- Click Apply.
Note: You can remove all the widgets from the dashboard by clicking Clear all.
Customize a Real-time dashboard
- In the Dashboard panel, find the dashboard, click on it, and then click Edit.
- Review the following dashboard options and change as appropriate: Dashboard name, add, edit, or remove dashboard widgets.
- Click Apply.
If you customize a Standard dashboard, you can save the changes as a dashboard view. Later, you can reload the view by selecting it from the View drop-down.
Note: You can't save the default view as the current view.
To save the current view of the dashboard:
- After customizing the Standard dashboard, click Save current view on the Actions toolbar.
- Give the view a name.
- If you want the view to be the primary view, click Mark as the primary view.
- Click Save.
Note: After you save the view, you can find it later in the View drop-down. If you mark it as the primary view, you find it directly below the Default view and above other views that you create.
Copy dashboard views
In a Standard dashboard, you can copy the current view of the dashboard. Copying views is useful when you want to use a copy as a starting point for a new view that you're building.
To copy the current view of the dashboard:
- In the dashboard view that you want to copy, click Copy view on the Actions toolbar.
- Give the copy a name.
- If you want the view to be the primary view, click Mark as the primary view.
- Click Copy.
Note: After you save the view, you can find it in the View drop-down. If you mark it as the primary view, you find it directly below the Default view and above other views that you create.
View dashboard properties
You can view the properties of a dashboard by hovering over the dashboard in the Dashboard panel. The tooltip displays the following information:
- Dashboard name
- Created by
- Creation date
- Contains personal data
Manage views in Standard dashboards
You can change attributes of Standard dashboards and then save the changes as different dashboard views.
There is no limit to the number of views that you can save and you can switch between views at any time. You can mark a view as your primary so that it is loaded every time you return to the dashboard. The primary view cannot be deleted or edited.

Edit a dashboard view
To edit a dashboard view:
- In the Standard dashboard, click the View drop-down, hover over the view that you want to edit, and then click Edit.
- Edit the view by changing the name, the user groups who can share it, or select it as your primary view.
- Click Save.
Share a dashboard view
If you create a view, you can share it with other users.
- In the dashboard, click the View drop-down, hover over the view that you want to share, and click Edit.
- Select user groups who can share the view.
- Click Save.
Delete a dashboard view
When you delete a view, you delete the view but not the dashboard.
- In the dashboard, click the View drop-down, hover over the view that you want to delete, and click Edit.
- Click Delete view. A confirmation window opens asking you to confirm the deletion.
- Click Delete to confirm that you want to delete the dashboard.
Mark a report view as your primary
When you save, edit, or copy a view, you can mark the view as your primary by clicking Mark as a primary view. Only one view can be marked as your primary at a time. Your primary view is listed at the top of the views in the View drop-down, directly below the Default view.
Switch between dashboard views
In a Standard dashboard, you can switch between views by clicking the View drop-down and then selecting the view that you want.
Download dashboards and widgets
You can download dashboards and widgets to a location on your computer as specified by your browser settings. Dashboards are saved as Excel files, and widgets are saved as CSV files. When you download a dashboard, data for all the widgets in the current dashboard is downloaded. The download is useful when you want to view and modify data offline.
To download a dashboard or widget, go to the dashboard or widget that you want to download and click Export. The following image shows how to export the dashboard.
Send dashboards by email
You can send dashboards by email. Email is useful when you want to send dashboards to users in your organization who do not have access to Digital Analytics.
- In the dashboard that you want to email, click Send dashboard on the Actions toolbar.
The Send dashboard modal opens and shows the name of the dashboard, the email schedule (one-time), and the format (excel). You cannot change these settings. - Specify the users who should receive the email. To add more than one email recipient, click Add.
- Enter a subject line for the email. The default format is Digital Analytics: <dashboard>, where <dashboard> is the name of the dashboard.
- Enter a message for the email.
- Click Send.
Share dashboards
You can give other users access to dashboards that you create by sharing the dashboard with the following Digital Analytics user groups:
- User groups that you select - Users in these groups have access to the dashboard and find the dashboard in the Shared dashboards folder. You find the dashboard in the My dashboards folder.
- All users - All users in your organization have access to the dashboard. You and other users find the dashboard in the Public dashboards folder.
To share dashboards:
- In the dashboard that you want to share, click Share dashboard on the Actions toolbar.
- Select user groups that you want to share the dashboard.
- Click Share.
Copy dashboards
You might want to copy a dashboard that you want to use as a starting point for a new dashboard that you are building.
- In the dashboard that you want to copy, click the three-dot menu on the Actions toolbar and then click Copy dashboard.
- Enter a name for the copy.
- Click Copy. The copy is sent to the My dashboards folder.
Delete dashboards and widgets
You can delete dashboards and widgets. If you delete a dashboard, all the widgets within the dashboard are deleted.
Note: You cannot delete Standard dashboards.
To delete a dashboard or widget:
- In the dashboard or widget that you want to delete, click the three-dot menu and then click Delete. A confirmation window asks you to confirm the deletion.
- Click Delete to confirm that you want to delete the dashboard or widget.
Compare data by date in the Enterprise dashboard
In Enterprise dashboards, you can compare data in the KPI and Top Line Summary Report widgets by date ranges.
To compare data by date:
- Go to the Dashboard view and then click Compare.
- Go to the Date A column and select the first date range for comparison. Available date ranges include Day, Week, Month, Quarter, and Year.
- In the Date B column, select the second date range for comparison. Available date ranges include Day, Week, Month, Quarter, and Year.
- Select options for calculating comparison data. The following options are available:
- B (default selection) shows both options (option A and option B).
- A-B shows the difference between option A and option B.
- % of total diff shows the percent difference between option A and option B.
- Click Compare.
What's next
The KPI widget and Top Line Summary Report widget show comparison data based on the selected comparison options. To stop comparing data, click the X on the A or B Calendar in the Dashboards view.
