Contact processing time through decision points in Acoustic Campaign depends on several factors related to your automation configuration and system activity. There is no fixed or guaranteed processing time.
What affects decision point processing time
Decision points in multi-step programs evaluate contacts based on defined conditions such as email opens, clicks, field values, or other behaviors. The time it takes contacts to move through decision points depends on:
- The delays configured between steps
- The complexity of rules and logic
- The number of active contacts in the program
- Overall system workload
Because of these variables, decision points do not process contacts instantly or at a fixed interval.
How list imports affect processing time
Resource consumption: Large imports or multiple concurrent programs can slow the rate at which contacts are evaluated at decision points, as each program uses system resources differently.
Program entrance frequency: List imports influence how often contacts are eligible to enter programs. Once imported, contacts enter and progress based on your program's entrance rules and frequency settings.
Contact state management: Contacts waiting at decision points may experience delays if system resources are focused on processing new or large imports at the same time.
How to optimize automation performance
- Schedule large list imports during off-peak hours to reduce resource contention
- Configure appropriate delays between messages and decision points
- Monitor program performance metrics to identify bottlenecks
- Review entrance frequency settings to ensure contacts are entering at the expected rate
- Split very large imports into smaller batches where possible
