❓ URL from Relational Table

The article helps you  if the URL has variables (https://acoustic.com?email=xxx@xxx.com)

If the URL doesn't have this format is not necessary to use DLL

But, to keep the format (font, size, etc) me best that work for me is create the paragraph in HTML and then replace it with the RT call manually. You will need some knowledge with HTML, but it will work without problems.

    Diego,

I've been able to easily swap out a URL using RT inserts without DLL, but in my experience the link tracking process (what DLL is doing...manually creating the link redirect/tracking) happens prior to the inserts from relational tables.  The links may work when clicked, but always make sure that your reporting is actually tracking them!  The links further may need to be encoded inside the DLL if its a URL as you've mentioned with variables.

That said I've been working with this platform for so long (decade+) that I am at the point where I forget basics and over complicate :)

    Allison,

Yes, you're right, but I based my answer into the principal problem of Raul (keep font, font size, etc.)
I think that the best way to do that is create a simple html paragraph first and then personalized with RT data, and just then use DLL.
I think both can be complicated if the user

    a) Have no experience with HTML
    b) Have no experience working with relational tables personalization

Tha automated RT TAG personalization include a lot of code, thinked to include several rows in a basic html table. So I preffer to create the tag outside and then manually include into the mailing... even into the new composer (with the HTML block)

Of course, with my comment I just want to help Raul and do not depreciate your initial help

    Diego,

Absolutely! I spent all last week making RT inserts work in the new Message Composer in ways that challenged but also ultimately worked!  With no HTML i was able to insert the markup in the URL field for link properties, which made me VERY happy ... and it worked! It just didn't track.  Then I remembered that I was going to have to dust off that Help article and use the HTML block to insert my own to make it work in the new builder.

30 tests later, because OMG deep link syntax with personalization, it FINALLY worked. That encoding within the encoding is a real pickle if you don't use it all the time. LOL

Have a great day!  Glad to see some action in these questions from time to time. -- Allison
