Create events
- Select Events in the side panel.
- Select New event
- Select an interaction type in the dropdown menu.
- Use the Element selector to select a within the website
- Confirm basic information
- Name (required)
- Tags and description (optional)
- Confirm element details
- Select Save.
Manage events
The events you created using the extension are saved to the Event Manager. To review the events:
- Login to Tealeaf
- Event Manager
The events can be edited deleted through Acoustic Event Composer. To manage events in the extension
- Activate the extension.
- Go to the events panel.
- Search for an event the overflow menu. You can filter the list of events based on name, event type, tags, and date modified by selecting the filter icon.
- Edit or delete by selecting the three dot icon or the event name.
Understand the Element details
When you create events, you can define your events by setting conditions that will help you gain specific insights into your customers' experiences during their sessions in your application. When the conditions of the event are met during a visitor session, data about the event is captured. The following Element detail settings help you define your events.
Interaction type: how the user (or application) acts upon the element
- Click
Example: clicking of a button - Change (input, value or property)
Example: setting or changing the value of a form field - Text
Example: the appearance of text within the application - Load
Example: the loading of a page within the application
Element type: the element you would like to track
- Button
- Link
- Data field
- Image
- Text (appearing within the application)
- Page (loading of the page)
Tracking frequency: how often the interaction is to be tracked
- Every occurrence
- Only the first
Scope: the areas where the element is to be tracked
- Just this page on this website
- All pages on this website
Identifier: how the element is found
- Use the right-side element panel to decide how it should be identified
Tip: Identifiers can help you identify elements on a web page more precisely. Adjust the identifier rules by selecting specific operators. You can also use the Element Location section on the Right panel to edit the selected identifiers.
