In the on-premises version of Acoustic Tealeaf, event administrators can use the Export tab in Event Manager to export a set of selected event definitions and supporting data objects. The event definitions are exported as an Event definitions (.TLE) file. You can then upload the .TLE file and import the event definitions into Tealeaf.
Make sure you have access to the Event (.TLE) file that contains the definitions of the event data objects that you are importing. In the on-premises application, you can export event data objects to a .TLE file.
To import events, you must be assigned the SupportUser or Administrator role. If you are not a SupportUser or administrator, the Import option is not displayed in the Event Manager user interface.
When you are ready to move from the on-premises version of Acoustic Tealeaf to the cloud version, you can import the events by uploading the exported .TLE file.
Complete the following steps to import events from a on-premises environment to Tealeaf.
- From the left-side panel in Tealeaf, select Event Manager.
- From the Event Manager, select Import.
- Select the event file (.TLE) for importing events.
The file is uploaded and analyzed by the system.
A status of what can and cannot be imported is displayed.
- Optional: Click Edit cookies.
The Event import feature provides an option to edit cookies in the Acoustic event (.TLE) file (formerly the Tealeaf Event file) during the import operation.
Use the Edit cookies option to specify the cookies from the website on which event conditions are monitored and captured by Tealeaf.
From the Edit Cookies window, you can enter the cookies from the website on which Tealeaf captures data for defined event conditions.
- Add importable and non-importable hit attributes.
Adding hit attribute mapping can minimize the post-import configuration tasks and can improve the import operation. For example, say that the import operation indicates that a hit attribute won't be imported, but you know for certain that you have data for it. You can use the Add option to create a hit attribute and map it. This way the hit-attribute is marked as imported, and all other entities are marked as will-be-imported (when the dependencies are addressed).
- Click Add in the section of the user interface that lists the assets that can be imported.
Use the Add importable hit attribute window to select the Hit attributes from the .TLE file you uploaded, and map them to the hit attributes on the Tealeaf system.
- Click Add in the section of the user interface that lists the assets that cannot be imported.
Use the Add non-importable hit attribute window to select the Hit attributes from the .TLE file you uploaded, and map them to the hit attributes on the Tealeaf system.
- Click Add in the section of the user interface that lists the assets that can be imported.
- Click Import and Finish.
