You can use the Asset Manager to manage replay assets on the Tealeaf file system. Currently, Asset Manager serves mainly as a content viewer for assets that have been collected with image capture tools, and then uploaded to the file system from the Company Settings page.
For example, when you upload an image package zip file from the Company Settings page, you can use Asset Manager to access assets from the extracted folder structure.
The initial uploading of replay assets is done from the Company Settings page. Once the assets are uploaded from the Company Settings page, you can use Asset Manager to access, view, and manage individual files on the Tealeaf file system. You cannot use Asset Manager to upload replay assets in bulk.
When you upload replay assets (Templates, Hybrid asset package, Static / Web resource package) from Company Settings, the extracted folder structure and its contents are added to the Tealeaf file system. You can then use Asset Manager to view, upload, delete, and download individual files on the file system.
The Asset Manager provides administrators with an efficient way to troubleshoot problems with individual assets used by Replay. For example, if a replay asset (for example, an image file, web replay asset, or hybrid replay asset) is damaged or unusable for any reason, you can use Asset Manager to go directly to the file and delete it. You can then use Asset Manager to upload and replace the file that you deleted.
The Delete option in Asset Manager is "hard delete" for all asset types. Currently, you cannot retrieve a file after you delete it with the Asset Manager
For now, the capability to delete, download, and upload is limited to single assets only for all asset types. You cannot use Asset Manager to manage (delete, download, or upload) folders, even if the folder contains only a single asset.
To view assets from the Asset Manager, folders on the file system must be named specifically as follows:
- For Images, the folder must be named
images
. - For Templates, the folder must be named
tlt
. - For Auxiliary, the folder must be named
auxiliary
.
The following sections explain the features available with Asset Manager.
Native Images
The following steps assume the image files from your native application were collected and then uploaded to the file system from the Company Settings page, as described in Collect images in your native and hybrid application and upload them to the replay server.
To work with image files used by Native Replay:
- From the menu bar, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select Native Images.
The Native Images window opens to the Images folder on the Tealeaf file system. You can view, delete, and download assets that have been uploaded to the Images folder. You can also upload assets to the Images folder, or any sub-folder/ sub-directory under the Images folder.
Web Replay Assets
If an asset, such as a font, image file, or cascading stylesheet (css), extracted from replay, is damaged or unusable, you can use Asset Manager to go directly to Web Replay Asset and delete it. You can then use Asset Manager to upload and replace the Web Replay Asset that you deleted.
When you use the Company Settings page to upload a static package, the system checks the parameter values set for Tag 1 and Tag 2. When Tag 2 is left empty, the system looks specifically for Web assets with a given domain name (as specified in Tag 1). When you tag the static package this way and upload the package from the Company Settings page, you can use the Asset Manager to manage individual Web Replay assets. See "Using static and web resources for session replay" in Manage static and web resources for replay for information about working with assets from the Company Settings page.
With the Asset Manager you can view, delete, and download Web Replay assets that are uploaded to the web assets folder on the Tealeaf system.
To work with Web Replay assets:
- From Tealeaf, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select Web Replay Assets.
- Select the domain name where the Web Replay Asset is located, and then go to the asset that you want to work with. You can view, delete, and download Web Replay assets.
Currently, you can delete and download single assets only. Deleting or downloading folders (even if the folder contains a single asset only) is not supported.
You can also use Asset Manager to upload assets to your system. You can upload a folder if the folder contains a single asset only.
If you want to upload a Web Replay asset to a domain that is not currently associated with the organization, enter the name of the domain and click the Add icon. The domain is added to the list of domain names.
Auxiliary
The Auxiliary tab provides access to a repository of customized code for improving replay fidelity.
Acoustic services can apply JavaScript™-based rules from the Auxiliary directory to align page content and modify fonts and colors on the screens in Replay, so that they more closely match the screens from the actual application or website.
To work with files in the Auxiliary directory:
- From Tealeaf, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- Select Auxiliary. The window opens to the Auxiliary folder on the Tealeaf file system.
You can view, delete, and download files from the Auxiliary folder on the file system.
You can also upload assets to the Auxiliary folder, or any sub-folder/ sub-directory under the Auxiliary folder on the file system.
Hybrid Replay Assets
The following steps assume that you used Find Hybrid Package feature from the Company Settings page, as described in the topic "Using a hybrid package for session replay of a hybrid mobile application".
If an asset (cascading stylesheet (CSS), HTML, or JavaScript) that is used in the hybrid mobile app is damaged or unusable, you can use Asset Manager to go directly to the asset and delete it. You can then use Asset Manager to upload and replace the Hybrid Replay asset that you deleted.
With the Asset Manager you can view, delete, and download Hybrid Replay assets that are uploaded to the Tealeaf file system.
To work with Hybrid Replay assets:
- From Tealeaf, select user name Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select Hybrid Replay Assets.
- Select the AppName and AppVersion of the hybrid application that contains the asset that you want to work with. Asset Manager opens to the root directory where the Hybrid Replay assets for the specified application and version reside.
- Select the asset. With the asset selected, you can view information details about it, delete it, or download it.
- You can also use Asset Manager to upload a Hybrid Replay asset to your system.
To upload a Hybrid Replay asset to an Application / Version that is not currently associated with the organization, complete the following steps:
- If the application exists, use AppName to select it.
- If the Application is not present, use the Add New AppName to add it.
- Click the Add icon.
If you are using an existing AppName, but want to add a new version, or you just added a new AppName but have no versions associated with it, complete the following steps:
- Add a new AppVersion by specifying a version in Add New AppVersion.
- Click the Add icon.
The Hybrid Replay Application and Version are added to the list of applications and versions. You can upload assets to this newly added AppName and AppVersion. If no assets are added, they will be eliminated from the lists.
Native Templates
With the Asset Manager you can work with the native replay iOS and Android templates for your organization.
If your organization has not yet loaded templates, the upload native templates feature of Asset Manager works the same way as uploading templates from the Company Settings page. If your organization has data, and you want to upload a new template zip file, you need to upload the new template from the Company Settings page, as described in the topic Collect images in your native and hybrid application and upload them to the replay server.
To work with Native Templates from the Asset Manager:
- From Tealeaf, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select Native Templates.
If there are no customized templates for the organization, the New Templates icon is displayed.
You can create custom templates for use with native replay. Custom templates are useful if you make changes to the out-of-the-box mobile controls in iOS or Android that result in a subclass of that control that has a different visual appearance. In such a scenario, the replay of that control might not show your customization. By using a custom template, you can make the replay match your customization.
There are two ways to incorporate custom templates for native replay:
- Modify the templates that are provided with Tealeaf. To modify the templates that are provided with :
- Click New Templates.
- Select Clone the default templates.
- Download the default template and customize it.
- Upload the customized template when you are ready to use it.
- Use your own custom templates To use your own customized templates:
- Click New Templates.
- Select Upload my templates.
- Browse to the folder that contains your templates.
- Upload the folder that contains the custom templates.
If there are templates available for the organization:
-
- The tlt folder is displayed.
- You can expand tlt to view the contents of the iOS and android folders, or you can type a name in the search field to find a specific template.
- To view information about the template, click it.
With the Asset Manager you can delete and download templates from the Tealeaf file system.
You can also use Asset Manager to upload a Template to your system.
Replay Rules File
Use the following steps to access your replay rules file and, optionally, update it.
- From Tealeaf, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select Replay Rules file.
From the Replay rules file page, you can:
- Click the link text for the Current replay rules file to open and save the file to your computer.

- To delete replay rules from a host, expand the host name section, select the rule to delete, and click Delete.
- You can download a previous version of a Replay rules file from the History table, by selecting the file and clicking Download.
The History table supports multi-select and multi-download of Replay rule files.
You might download a previous version of a Replay rules file if you realize that the current Replay Rule file doesn't address a use case that addressed by an earlier version.
Monitor the status of assets retrieved by the content retrieval service
CRS is enabled and managed by Acoustic with input from the Tealeaf customer.
The CRS tab on the Asset Manager provides access to the CRS dashboard, where you can track the status of assets retrieved by the Content Retrieval Service. The CRS tab is available only to customers who have been given access to the CRS.
Contact your Acoustic support representative for access to the Content Retrieval Service (CRS).
For information about CRS, see Retrieve static content from URLs captured in sessions with the content retrieval service (CRS).
Use the following steps to access and work with the CRS dashboard.
- From Tealeaf, select user name > Admin and then select the Asset Manager tab.
- From the Asset Manager select CRS. By default, the system displays a statistics page. The statistics page reveals statistical information about the assets themselves. For example,
- Done
- The number of assets that have been fetched by the CRS. Assets kept for as long as they are linked to sessions in the Tealeaf system.
- Unprocessed
- The number of assets not yet fetched by the CRS but might still be fetched. These assets might have been attempted to be fetched by our servers 0 or more times.
- Failed
- If an asset fails, CRS tries to fetch it again in 6 hours. CRS does this for an asset for up to 3 days. If after all attempts (12) the asset still cannot be fetched by the Tealeaf servers, then it is marked as "Failed".
- Click Show assets to check if a specific asset has been fetched. If you know the name of the asset you are looking for, you can go to the search page to find it and check its status.
At anytime, you can refresh the statistics page.
