You can create a task from within the search results page that exports a list of sessions for the matched search criteria. You can export the list of sessions once, or you can configure a task that exports the session list on a regularly scheduled basis.
The Export all option is available only for organizations that have the Data Export feature enabled.
Export session with the ability to replay
Exporting sessions is an integral feature to a session archive solution. The data that is exported with Session Export can be used to resolve various problems and help settle disputes with customers.
Common use cases for exporting sessions in a replayable format include:
- A customer denies agreeing to terms and conditions for an online trade to avoid taking a loss.
- A customer claims they were not informed that the purchase price that depends on a special promotion.
- Corporate or government auditors demand a comprehensive accounting of online customer interactions.
If any use cases require you to verify session data beyond the defined data retention period for Tealeaf, access to the exported sessions can be useful. (The default retention is 14 days.)
Using an S3-compliant tool, you can find the sessions that were exported and upload them to Tealeaf for replay and analysis.
Export a session without the ability to replay
Sessions that are exported as a .csv file do not contain static images and are not replayable. However, the file contains raw data, which can be exported and imported in to any other enterprise business solution, such as tableau or SAS or other analytics tools.
Common use cases for exporting sessions in a non-replayable (.csv) format include:
- An analyst wants to combine a customer’s digital interaction data with other data, such as CRM data, to run the customer propensity model (or other more sophisticated modeling and analysis).
- A business analyst wants to view web abandonment data through other reporting tools.
Integrating exported session data with existing business applications provides a multi-channel perspective of your visitors' experience. Business analysts can expand data analysis and testing, from cross-channel effectiveness to marketing campaigns to fraud detection, by using familiar reporting tools.
Note: Although the replayable .pdf file includes the same type of session metadata as the .csv file, the .csv file is smaller because it does not include image files.
