You can view the details of the segment, edit segment details, and so on, in your organization.
View the segment details
- Log in to Acoustic Personalization.
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment and click Actions > View details
The Segment pane lists the inclusion conditions and exclusion conditions.
The Currently used in pane shows the number of rules that are using the segment. To view more information, such as the channel name, zone name and the rule name, click View rules.
The Properties pane shows the segment metadata information such as the segment name, description, tags, and created by details.
Edit a segment
Note
You can only edit the segments that are created by you.
You cannot edit a segment that is currently being used in a rule.
Edit segment details
To edit the segment details:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment and click Actions > View details.
- Ensure that the segment is currently not being used in any rule.
- In the Properties section, click Edit.
- Update the segment name, description, or tags as required, and click Save.
Edit segment conditions
To edit the segment conditions:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment and click Actions > View details.
- Ensure that the segment is not currently used in any rule.
- In the Segment section, click Edit condition.
Using the Rule builder, you can modify the existing conditions or add new conditions. - In the Segment pane, click Save.
- Confirmation pop-up window opens. Click Save again to publish all the rules that are associated with this segment.
Rename a segment
You can change the name of the segment that you created for your personalization.
To rename a segment, complete the following steps:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment you want to rename and click Actions > Rename.
- Type a new name for the segment and then click Save. The segment is renamed successfully.
Duplicate a segment
You can create a copy of an existing segment. Then, you can edit the new segment based on your needs and create a new rule using that segment copy.
The Segments page lists all the segments that are created across all channels in your organization.
To duplicate the segments, complete the following steps:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment and click Actions > Duplicate.
- Click Duplicate.
New copy of the segment is created with the suffix "Copy" appended to the segment name.
View the number of rules using a segment
Click Refresh from the actions menu to know the latest count of rules in which a particular segment is being used.
To view the latest rule count for a segment, complete the following steps:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment and click Actions > Refresh.
The Segment pane displays the latest count of rules in which the segment is currently being used.
Delete a segment
You can delete the segments that are no longer required for personalization.
To delete a single segment, complete the following steps:
- In the menu, go to Personalization > Segments.
- Select the segment you want to delete and click Actions > Delete.
Note
If the segment is being used in a rule, then the Delete option is not available. - A confirmation message appears. Click Delete. The segment is deleted.
