Struggle analytics works by creating maps to the URLs of pages that you want the Struggle analytics feature to monitor and analyze. As visitors interact with the specified pages, the struggle analytics algorithm learns what is normal behavior and what is not, and alerts users of these changes over time.
Session data is passed through a set of algorithms that assess each visitor session based on a set of key struggle factors. Each visitor session is assigned a struggle score that is based on the interaction the user had with the website. The collection of each visitor struggle score determines the struggle score for the URL that was configured for struggle analytics.
By examining every incoming session, struggle analytics understands what the patterns and characteristics are for normal sessions. It gives outliers a high struggle score based on its distance from the baseline. If the pattern of outliers is unusual, you are notified by an email alert. The pattern baseline is continuously evolving based on the most recent sessions and user-defined struggle events, which makes the automatic struggle detection more accurate over time.
