Acoustic email activity can be synchronized to Salesforce through integration and stored in custom objects.
As part of the installation & configuration for integration, this information is often displayed as a Related list on the lead or contact and campaign page layouts and is available for reporting purposes.
The Acoustic Campaign AppExchange package installs custom objects that push back email metrics to Salesforce.
The custom objects that store email metrics are designed for two features included in the integration:
- Acoustic Mailing objects related to Recipients
- Acoustic Mailing objects related to Salesforce Campaigns
Acoustic Mailing objects related to Recipients
Acoustic Mailing objects related to Recipients (Leads and Contacts) are labeled as Acoustic Email Activity and their related Email Links
The Lead/Contact Mailing History to CRM sync feature must be activated in Acoustic Campaign under CRM and Scoring Settings Manage CRM Status tab - for Acoustic Email Activities to sync with Salesforce.
Recipient-level mailing history is sent to Salesforce using a customized version of our RawRecipientDataExport API designed for Salesforce.
They are displayed in Salesforce under the Related tab for the Lead or Contact.
Acoustic Mailing objects related to Salesforce Campaigns
Acoustic Mailing objects related to Salesforce Campaigns are labeled as
Acoustic Email Campaign Activity and their related Acoustic Email Campaign Links. The Enable CRM Campaign feature must be checked, under CRM and Scoring Settings.
and the Sent emails Create CRM Campaigns sync feature must be activated, under CRM and Scoring Settings > Manage CRM > Status tab, to Create Salesforce Campaigns from Acoustic Mailings.
The Enable Campaign Email Sending from CRM feature must be checked under CRM and Scoring Settings to send Acoustic Mailings from Salesforce Campaigns.
Salesforce Campaign level mailing history is sent to Salesforce using a customized version of our GetAggregateTrackingForMailing API designed for Salesforce.
They are displayed in Salesforce under the Related tab for the Campaign.
Note: Because Acoustic Email Activity and Acoustic Campaign Email Activity are populated by different APIs, their data is not expected to correlate in Salesforce.
Examples:
An Acoustic Campaign Email Activity (using the mailing ID API) may show 10 recipients were sent a mailing but only 7 Salesforce Leads and Contacts have an Acoustic Email Activity (using the Raw Recipient API) with the same name and send timestamp. This suggests that 3 of the recipients may not be Salesforce records but only recipients in Acoustic; there could be duplicates in Acoustic where the Salesforce expected email record that received the mailing was not the one Enabled to sync.
