Updated support for ScheduleMailing API
You can now specify via API if Acoustic Campaign should pre-process the contact source before send time. If these details are not included, the contact source will be evaluated for eligible recipients at the mailing’s scheduled send time. You can find more details in our developer experience here.
Added ability to manage permissions in your mobile app
Google's policy may impact your mobile applications that use Device Location Awareness capability. Applications published to Google Play Store using background permissions will require approval as part of Google's Safer and More Transparent Access to User Location. Please read and consider Google's policies and how they impact your application.
Currently, the Acoustic Android SDK requires location permissions as part of the default settings in the manifest. These permissions impact Google's approval requirement for your application. You may edit and remove required permissions prior to releasing your application with reduced functionality.
Anomaly detection for individual emails in a program
Anomaly detection is now available in a more detailed view for each individual email in your program. Go to the Metrics tab in programs canvas to see a list of emails with detected anomalies and the number of anomalies. To get a more detailed view of anomalies for each email, click the email name in the program Metrics panel. You can find more details for how to use this feature here.
Blind carbon copy (BCC) for Transact
Transact BCC capabilities have been updated to support having two BCC email addresses in a single request instead of one. You can find more details in our developer experience here.
Announcing updates to Flash support
Adobe removed Flash as a product as of December 31, 2020. Classic reporting ran on Flash. You can export your visualizations to a PDF in our classic reporting; however, your visualizations will not load in the user interface. You can recreate your reports in Performance Insights by going to Reporting > Performance Insights. For more information, see how to create a report.
Announcing updates to message composer
A new update to message composer includes new options for text styles within global styles. This allows message composer users to further customize headings, body, and formatted text to provide consistency, re-usability, and ease of use when building out emails and text blocks. Customize fonts with the ability to bold, select an exact size, and select new Google fonts.
Servers updated to use HTTPS

Schedule to send reports in Performance Insights
You can now set a recurring schedule for sending a report URL to any email address, whether or not that person has an Acoustic Campaign account. These report links allow the recipient to see the report from the time it was sent.
Time to log in with your Acoustic ID
Over the past several months, we've been slowly rolling out Acoustic ID for all supporting websites, but now we're ready for product use. Your Acoustic ID now replaces your IBMid to log in to our products. For more information, check out Create an Acoustic ID.
My Acoustic: One step closer to a unified platform

Delete contact lists automatically
We are introducing a new cleanup feature that will delete contact lists automatically. This is ideal for users with a large number of contact lists in their organization who struggle with performance issues. This feature is only available by request through Acoustic Support.
Additionally we’ve introduced a new Delete List REST API to make deleting specific contact lists and queries easier.
Announcing a new survey connection with Typeform
Typeform is now available to link survey data into Campaign using Survey Connector. Typeform is a people-friendly and innovative survey tool. Typeform joins SurveyMonkey, SurveyGizmo, and Qualtrics as survey tools supported by Survey Connector.
Email link security
On August 18, 2020, we’ll begin rolling out email link security for Acoustic Campaign. Initially, we will support tracked links, clickstream links, externally web-tracked links, and analytic links. In the future, we will support additional link types and Transact emails.
Email link security will provide several benefits:
- Expiration of email links after 365 days
- Improved link security through better encryption
- Increased protection against recipient ID iteration attacks
- Improved service response and resiliency
- Less chance of link failure
Email link security only affects emails scheduled after enablement, and older links will continue to work as they do now. The way you create links won’t change, but the domain included in your links will, as you can see in these examples:

In the new link, the domain is seen as recip-qa5.qa.goacoustic.com where qa5.qa will be replaced with your geographical area, such as recip-ap-1.goacoustic.com.
For custom domains, you will see a difference in the links after your custom domain name. For example:

Additionally, there are some considerations when you use personalization in your links.
- Personalization for supported links will occur at the time the email is sent, rather than when a link is clicked. If information in the database changes after the email is sent, this will not be reflected in the personalized URL.
- If a field used for personalization contains three consecutive pipe symbols ( ||| ) personalization will not render correctly on the website.

New Feature: Push reporting for Marketers
With the latest release of the Acoustic Campaign 1.1.0 server, Marketers can enable Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push deliverability reporting. Now, in addition to showing messages sent, the reporting page shows confirmed push messages. For more information about this feature and how it works, go here.
View email domain performance in Performance Insights
Add the top domains widget to an email report to see the deliverability statistics for the domains that you send to. Learn which domains have the best delivery rates and which domains might have delivery issues. You can also filter reports by domains and use domains as a dimension in chart widgets.
Domain-related data is only available from July 29, 2020. Any report using an earlier time frame will not return domain data. For more details, see our blog post.
Integrated Acoustic Content and Campaign asset repository
If you currently have Acoustic Content and Campaign with the email beta option or would like to subscribe to both these products, you can now opt to integrate the asset repositories for them.
With the integrated asset repositories for both products, you can
- Effortlessly re-use and manage assets between the two products for efficient content management and delivery.
- Easily control user access to both products with our improved user management. Admins can control who has access to the Content and/or the Campaign user interface.
- Automatically publish email content to a global CDN for faster and reliable delivery to customers.
Hide blocks or sections with the message composer
Further customize your emails for mobile and desktop with the message composer (beta). Now, you can hide a single content block or an entire section for either view. Just open the style tab for a content block or section to hide as needed.
StartTLS and SMTPS for Transact SMTP inbound are available to use
To access this feature, you will need to use the goacoustic.com Transact service hostname.

Transact email filter
In Performance Insights, filter by transactional emails on any email report to dive even deeper into your data to separate results from both transactional and promotional emails.
Child relational tables and send time optimization
Queries that contain child relational table criteria can now be used to send emails with send time optimization.
Reorder export database fields for direct mail, export lead, and telesales objects in your automated program
After you add a direct mail, export lead, or telesales object to your canvas, you can reorder any selected database fields before you export the files for external use.
Inactive programs deleted after 450 days
As part of infrastructure upgrades, inactive programs created in 2015 or before, that have not been active or modified in the past 450 days will be deleted. For more information see: Data Retention Policy.
Improved linking between IBMid and Campaign accounts
Adding and switching between Campaign accounts has never been easier. We've also changed the way we integrate your IBMid with your Campaign accounts.
New in programs
Share contact information automatically with your direct mail and telesales vendors or with your own sales teams using secure methods, including SFTP with our direct mail, telesales, and export lead objects. Simply add and configure on your canvas, and then you're ready to go!

New top links widget in Performance Insights
You now have the ability to edit the top links widget and add any of the metrics that belong to links. Add a top links widget and use your completely customizable widget to understand all your link metrics.
We're closing the gaps between Performance Insights and reporting
- Conversion amount (for email): Before today, Performance Insights pulled in only the count of conversions. Now we pull in the actual monetary value associated with the count of conversions. There is no specific currency associated with the metric, and it is displayed as a decimal.
- Delivery rate (for email): Before today, you could not add delivery rate back to any of the widgets. It only displayed when email report was first generated, and couldn’t be added after the original report was generated. Now, you can add delivery rate anywhere, any time, in your email reports.
- Filter by contact source (all reports): Before today, you could only filter an entire report by a database. Now, you can filter a report by Query, Contact List, or Database that you are actually sending your messages to, within the contact source filter that is already in Performance Insights, alleviating the need for more than 10 audiences at a time.

Character swap for SMS
You can choose to replace one character of an SMS message with another when that character is not of the GSM standard. For example, the character "ë" is replaced by the GSM character "e" when your message is sent. To allow character swap, simply select the appropriate check box when creating your SMS program.
